The late 70s
Saw Fozzi pick up an acoustic guitar given to him by his grandma.
Though short on musical knowledge he joined a band formed by school mates.
Promptly elected lead vocals and rhythm guitarist, after offering to sing a song the “then” bass player was singing.
Various lineups of cabaret / rock bands followed eventuating in a line up without
a bassist and so a change of amplifiers and reduction of strings from 6 to 4.
The
80’s
Were good for Fozzi and after forming a 3 piece to compete in a local Battle of the Bands was asked to join a group being put together using exceptional members from several bands.
This group, “Xept-U” went on to support
the likes of Redgum, Mal Eastik, Fairport Convention, The Troggs, Icehouse,
Uncanny X-Men,
Dragon, Choir Boys, and Midnight Oil touring through South Australia.
The
90’s
Xept-U then migrated west
playing the Perth “beer barns” Raffles, Sundowner, Stadium, Beaconsfield, Charles Hotel, Cargos, Metropolis,
and Rockwell's as well as country gigs and Bindoon Rock. Xept U ran its course
and Fozzi spent some time in the Reporters, a hard pub-rock act before filling in with the Flying Piranhas, Running hot, and
forming his most recent project “Storm” a top 40 danceable pop-rock
act, which dissolved in 2001.
